Welcome to the 26th SMYTE (Small Meeting on Yeast Transport and Energetics), to be held in Braga, Portugal September 6-9 2008. The 26th SMYTE will be organized by the Molecular And Environmental Biology Center (CBMA) at Dept of Biology, University of Minho, Braga, Portugal.

Abstract submission and registration has been closed!

The SMYTE meetings have been held since 1983 (previous SMYTEs). They are cozy meetings that bring together researchers and students from all around the world to discuss results focusing on membrane transport, energetics, environmental sensing and related pathways in yeasts.

The meeting sessions will cover a variety of topics, including:

Structure, function and regulation of transporters Environmental sensing and metabolic regulations Intracellular trafficking Transporters in response to stress Transporters in pH regulation Transporters and pathogenicity Transporters and cell/organelle morphology Orthologs of yeast transporters in human diseases
